Eutectix presents prizes to the winners of its “guess the composition” contest at the MRS 2014 Show in San Francisco. CaNi5 was the right answer, a hexagonal crystal structure. The material was made at the Troy Michigan facility along with other custom alloys. CaNi5 has a CuNi5 structure. The material is used for hydrogen storage.

closest and won top prize, 10 US silver eagles, guessing hexagonal 50% nickel.
