Business Development Lead

Job Title:             Business Development Lead

Reports to:           VP & GM

Purpose:

To provide and develop new business opportunities for Eutectix to complement and align with the core competences of the company and further develop the strategic intent. The Business Development (BD) Lead must be able to contribute effectively to the team and demonstrate a clear understanding of current and new customer applications, matching them to Eutectix’ s products and capabilities. This person needs to work well in a group setting and work well on their own with minimal supervision. This person will generally work in an office setting during regular business hours, but additional and/or alternative hours may be needed depending on their organization’s needs. Travel will be approximately 40% on average, to Eutectix facilities as well as customer sites and relevant technical meetings but could be substantially higher or lower as well as international at times.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To maintain and develop relationships with all customers of the company to ensure annual sales targets are achieved, market awareness is current, and the company is correctly positioned for future growth
  • Collaborate with VP & GM to develop an annual sales plan (revenue & margin). Develop sales budget encapsulating travel costs, marketing expenses, and conference presence.
  • Manage product commercialization programs to ensure direct tie-in to customer needs and company goals
  • To follow up and where appropriate, develop existing opportunities for Eutectix by reinforcing current market positions and increase the customer base with consequent revenues and profits in line with company planning.
  • To identify additional opportunities within existing and complementary market sectors and explore new possibilities through market research, development of market information and promotion of the company within these sectors.
  • To quantify and present relevant new opportunities with appropriate business and financial models for consideration by the senior management team at Eutectix and provide detailed planning for such projects.
  • To investigate the relevant supply chain opportunities pertinent to new and existing product lines by developing supplier relationships and market knowledge of prices and trends in conjunction with the development of specifications for both products and raw materials
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development in new product creation and launch.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations in product costing and market tolerances.

Experience:

  • Customer Interface: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Metallurgy/Materials Science or other relevant technical experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited in Business (Preferred)
  • Technical Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Engineering will be considered.
  • Foundry experience would be a critical advantage.
